EAST PALESTINE -Carl M. Lipp, 88, of East Palestine, died Monday morning at his home.
He was born on Aug. 23, 1924, on the family farm in East Palestine, the son of Curtis and Nina (Cunningham) Lipp.
A farmer on the family farm all of his life, Mr. Lipp retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation. He also was a school bus driver for Springfield Local School District for 26 years, a member of the Mt. Olivet United Church of Christa and a past Unity Township trustee.
He leaves three daughters, Marilyn (Chuck) Geiss of East Palestine, Elizabeth (Rev. Bert) Ambrose of Valley City and Barbara Lipp of East Palestine, with whom he made his home; a son, Lee Lipp of East Palestine; a brother, Harold (Marian) Lipp of East Palestine; a sister, Evelyn (Harold) Johns of Zelienople, Pa.; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild on the way.
He was preceded in death on Aug. 17, 1998, by his wife, Lois June (Wright) Lipp, whom he married Jan. 10, 1945.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Melinda Q. Lacefield officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in North Lima and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church.
