WHEELING - Day 1 of the 60th Annual Ron Mauck OVAC Wrestling Tournament was action packed Thursday down at WesBanco Arena.
East Liverpool's Frankie Williams (126 pounds) reached milestone when he pinned Magnolia's Joseph Layman in the first round to record career victory No. 100.

Parkersburg South leads the overall team standings with 54 points, Steubenville is in second place with 40 points and Beaver Local is in third place with 39 points.
Locally, East Liverpool and Edison each have 16 points, Oak Glen has 15.5 points and Wellsville has scored eight points.
Five wrestlers won matches for the Golden Bears. Four of the victories came via pinfall. The other victory came via tech fall.
Individually, Nick Tice (138) pinned Monroe Central's Patrick Craig in 1:40 in a preliminary match, Kyle Mack (126) pinned Wheeling Park's Janathan Skeens in 43 seconds, Avery Flowers (132) pinned Magnolia's J.J. Stillwagoner in 26 seconds and Brodie Bittinger (152) pinned Harrison Central's Zack Jones in 55 seconds.
Also, Josh Cornell (120) defeated Shadyside's Bailey Chaplin by tech fall by a score of 15-0.
Finally, Ryan Debee (106) and Noah Mills (220) both received first round byes.
Beaver Local's Matt Bostian was presented with the JV/Assistant Coach of the Year Award.
Bostian, a 196 Beaver Local High School graduate and a former state qualifier, oversees the Beavers' offseason weightlifting and conditioning program.
He's known for getting the most out of his athletes and encouraging them to go the extra mile in preparing for matches.
