SALEM - Gary Gene Wilson, 54, of Salem, Ohio died at 4:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at Salem Community Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was born Sept. 23, 1958 in Salem, the son of Lester and Neva (Geary) Wilson.
Gary was a 1977 graduate of United Local High School and had been a meter man for 32 years for Ohio Edison. He attended technical school in Indianapolis, Ind. to become a mechanic.
He attended the Winona Friends Church and was a member of the Winona Fire Department.
His wife, Angie (Stella) Wilson, whom he married Oct. 5, 1997, survives him, along with sons, Staff Sgt. Michael (Ashley) Wilson at Laughlin Air Force Base, Del Rio, Texas, Caleb Wilson of Salem and Private Collin Wilson of Fort Jackson, S.C.; a daughter, Cady Wilson of the home; and two sisters, Gay (Gary) Schrom of Stow, Ohio and Amy (Terry) Barr of Jackson, Ohio.
His first wife, Denise Wilson, preceded him in death on Jan. 18, 1994.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Winona Friends Church with Rev. Rusty Savage officiating. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from noon to 3 p.m. at the church prior to the services. Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Hanoverton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Winona Fire Department, c/o Winona Post Office, Winona, Ohio 44493.
