Guilford Lake Ruritans plan fish fry

GUILFORD LAKE - An all-you-can-eat fish fry will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Guilford Lake Ruritan Hall on Route 172 at Hanna Drive.

Haystack breakfasts offered at Salem Eagles

SALEM - Haystack breakfasts will be served from 7 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Salem Eagles Club on North Ellsworth Avenue. Cost is $5 each. A dance from 9 p.m. to midnight follows. Music will be provided by Following June.

Mahoning Valley Retreads to meet Saturday

AUSTINTOWN - Mahoning Valley Retreads will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at Denny's, 4927 Mahoning Ave. All bikers over 40 are invited along with their co-rider. Membership fees are $15 each or $20 per couple. Forms will be available at the meeting or at 330-717-7825.

BELOIT - A country-style breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Smith Grange.

Valentine's Day ham dinner planned

MINERVA - Bayard Grange on U.S. Route 30 will serve a Valentine's Day ham dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. The meal includes cheesy potatoes, green beans, choice of homemade cole slaw or applesauce, dessert and a beverage. Cost is two for $15; or $8 for large and $6 for small. Carryout is available. CANFIELD - The Board of Park Commissioners of Mill Creek MetroParks plan to meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 11 at the MetroParks Farm on Route 46.

American Heritage Girls troop to open

SALEM - Heritage Baptist Church of Salem is chartering an American Heritage Girls troop and will have an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 at the church for girls ages 5-18 interested in finding out more about this scouting club. For more information call 330-314-6825.

Lisbon Ruritan set Valentine's Day rose sale

LISBON - The Lisbon Ruritan Club is hosting its annual Valentine's Day rose sale. Cost is $20 for one dozen red roses, boxed. To order see any Lisbon Ruritan member, or call 330-831-1795 and leave a message. Orders are due by Feb. 8. All proceeds benefit the club's community projects.

Lenton fish fries set at Saxon Club

SALEM - The Salem Saxon Club at 1980 Newgarden Road will host the first of six annual Lenten public fish fries, from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 15. Dinners include choice of baked or fried ocean cod, or breaded pork chops, scalloped potatoes, green beans, applesauce or cole slaw, homemade cake, coffee, tea, iced tea or punch. Cost is $11 for adults and $5.50 for children. Carryouts available by calling 330-222-1770 after 4:30 p.m.

'Joe the Coupon Guy' to speak

SALEM - Joe Daugirdas, "Joe the Coupon Guy," will visit at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 18 in the Quaker Room at the Salem Public Library. Daugirdas will discuss how to save 70 percent and more on grocery and toiletry shopping as well as utilities, travel, restaurants, cell phone service, etc. To register for this free program stop in or call 330-332-0042.

Seniors2Sophomores program session set

SALEM - Area high school students and their parents are invited to an information session to learn more about the Seniors2Sophomores program at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 21 in Room 134 of the Kent State University Salem campus, 2491 state Route 45.

The information session is open all area high school students and is sponsored by KSU at East Liverpool and Salem. Space is limited; to reserve a seat call 330-332-0361.

Seniors2Sophomores is a dual enrollment program that enables academically qualified high school seniors to simultaneously earn high school and college credit. Participating students may be able to complete the last year of high school and the first year of college at the same time. Tuition and books are free to qualified students.

Breakfast offered at Salem Masons

SALEM-A public breakfast buffet will be served from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Feb. 23 at the Salem Masonic Building, 788 E. State St. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children under age 10 and free for children under 2. The menu offers pancakes, waffles, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, homemade sausage gravy, biscuits, homefries, toast, fruit cocktail, orange juice, coffee and tea. The building is equipped with a handicapped accessible elevator. Proceeds will be directed to the Salem Masonic Building Fund.

Leetonia Ruritans set pizza challenge

LEETONIA- The Leetonia Ruritan Club will host its Pizza Challenge from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Feb. 12 in the Leetonia Elementary Gymnasium. Cost is $6 per person, free for children under 5 years old.

COLUMBIANA - The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce will host its 60th annual Awards Banquet on Feb. 24 at the Dutch Village Inn. Honorees include:

Keith Chamberlin and Jay Groner, Lifetime of Service awards.
