Richard E. “Dick” Ashbaugh

EAST LIVERPOOL - Richard E. "Dick" Ashbaugh, 86, of Spruce Court died at 7:58 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, following a brief illness.

He was born March 19, 1926, in Waynesboro, Pa., the son of the late Robert E. and Lillie (Dickens) Ashbaugh.

During World War II, he served for four years with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific, and also had spent three years in the Air Force. He was a Protestant by faith.

Mr. Ashbaugh had been a grinder operator for Mack Truck, until his retirement in 1987.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen "Kathy" Ashbaugh, whom he married in 1992; two sons, Louis "Joseph" Quinn Jr., and his wife, Teresa of East Liverpool and Stephen R. Quinn and his wife, Katrina of Salem; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a sister, Margaret Baumgardner of Waynesboro, Pa.

He was preceded in death in 1988 by his first wife, Evelyn.

Friends may call at the Dawson Funeral Home with the family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
