Freshmark employees will sponsor Banquet in Salem

SALEM - A new sponsor, Freshmark employees, has been welcomed to the Banquet in Salem organization.

Freshmark employees will serve the next meal to be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Building.

The menu offers chicken noodle soup, baked ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, applesauce, fresh fruit and vegetables, and ice cream.

Guilford Lake Ruritans serving all-you-can-eat fish dinners

'Free Wheelin' will perform Saturday at Salem VFW 892

SALEM - "Free Wheelin" (Stormin' Norman) will perform from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 892, 496 Arch St.

There is no cover charge. The kitchen will be open from 5:30 to 9 p.m. featuring pulled pork sandwiches, cole slaw and macaroni salad. Cost is $5. Also available are burgers, etc.

Mahoning Valley Retreads will meet Saturday for breakfast

AUSTINTOWN - Mahoning Valley Retreads will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Saturday at Denny's, 4927 Mahoning Ave. The general meeting follows.

The Retreads are open for membership to any and all bikers.

Membership dues are $15 per person or $20 per couple for ages 40 or over.

Weather permitting, there will be a ride afterwards, to be announced at the meeting. Members are reminded to pay their yearly dues if they have not already done so.

LISBON - A euchre tournament begins at 3 p.m. April 20 in the cafeteria at David Anderson High School. Cost is $10 per person.

Victims Assistance Program hosting annual luncheon

BOARDMAN - The Victims Assistance Program of Help Hotline Crisis Center Inc. will host the annual luncheon in honor of victims of crime 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 24 at the Holiday Inn, 7410 South Ave. The keynote speaker is Sergeant Joseph O'Grady of the Warren City Police Department.

The guest speaker will be Karin Ho, administrator, Office of Victims Services Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.

Cost is $25. Reservations are due by April 17. Checks are to be made payable to Help Hotline Crisis Center and mailed to P. O. Box 46, Youngstown, Ohio 44501. A total of 1.5 CEU's will be offered for counseling and social work.

Antique machinery show scheduled April 26-27

KNOX TOWNSHIP - The Knox Antique Auto, Engine, and Tractor Association will hold its 23rd annual antique machinery show beginning at 8 a.m. April 26 and 27.

A free car and truck show is slated from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27, rain or shine, on a blacktop parking lot.

All exhibitors: antique tractors and equipment, crafters, and flea market vendors, are welcome.

Dash plaques will be given out, no registration or admission fees, and the public is welcome. Food is available on site.

The show is located at the North Georgetown Fire Hall, six miles west of Salem on Columbiana County Road 400 (Georgetown Road) behind the Stagecoach Inn.

Lisbon Alumni Association will honor inductees April 27

LISBON - The Lisbon Alumni Association has announced the names of the three individuals nominated for the 2013 Alumni Hall of Fame Induction ceremony, set for 6 p.m. April 27 in the ballroom at the Salem Golf Club on state Route 45.

The three alumni to be toasted in this exciting Hall of Fame selection are Barry James, Dr. Bradley Lisko, and Thomas "Tom" McKenna.

These three revered alumni will be toasted by friends, and family at this traditionally heartwarming tribute event.

It will highlight the importance their career and life contributions have made to their school and their community. Judge Ashley Pike will emcee the Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Admission, which includes a buffet dinner, is $28 per person.

Tickets may be purchased only by sending a check to the Lisbon Alumni Association at P.O. Box 421, Lisbon, Ohio 44432. All reservations are due by April 20.

The inductions will be the highlight fund raising event for the Lisbon Alumni Association for its scholarship fund.

The Lisbon Alumni Scholarship program provides $15,000 in scholarships annually to Lisbon's outstanding senior students.

If you cannot attend but would like to make a contribution in an honoree's name, send your check to the same alumni address as listed.

All honorees will receive a list of those who donated to the scholarship fund in their honor.

Leetonia Elementary holding kindergarten registration

LEETONIA - Leetonia Elementary School will hold kindergarten registration for the 2013-14 school year from 3 to 6 p.m. May 31 and 9 a.m. to noon June 3.

Children who are 5 by Sept. 30, 2013, are eligible to register for kindergarten.

Parents should bring the following information: the child's birth certificate, immunization records, proof of residency, Social Security number, parent identification and custody papers if applicable.

Salem Hunting Club updates social calendars

SALEM - The Salem Hunting Club recently updated its social calendars.

The club's ranges are closed to non members for "open" shooting but the public is welcome to attend and participate at all sanctioned club events.
