GOSHEN TOWNSHIP- Motorists on state routes 165 and 14 in Goshen Township will see delays in travel this summer.
Township Trustee Chair Bob McCracken reported at the trustees' regular board meeting Monday night that the Ohio Department of Transportation will be working on state routes this summer.
According to the ODOT Public Information Office, the department will be resurfacing state Route 165 between state Route 14 and state Route 46 in Beaver Township beginning May 7, and state Route 14 between the four-lane U.S. Route 62 freeway to the Mahoning County border beginning April 25. State Route 165 between state Route 45 and Goshen Road will be closed for approximately 30 days beginning May 1 for bridge replacement. A minimum of one lane will remain open at all other times.
McCracken said the department will be grinding off half an inch of asphalt and then laying a half inch of pavement on top.
The projects are part of an overall $2.8 million resurfacing project that includes state Route 164 between state Route 7 and the Mahoning County border beginning April 22. State Route 165 is currently closed just east of U.S. Route 62 in Green Township for bridge replacement.
All dates are tentative and the project is scheduled to be completed by the end of September.
