Family fun fest set at Fairth Chapel

SALEM Faith Chapel Fellowship is hosting a family fun and safety fest, free of charge, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in the municipal parking lot at 511 E. Pershing St. A special appearance is planned by Johnny Appleseed. The event offers food, beverages, a bounce-a-round, train rides, identi-kits, face painting, games, prizes and a reptile display. A fire truck and police cruiser will be on display. Donations of paper products for the Salem Community Pantry will be appreciated.

Gospel trio featured in East Palestine

EAST PALESTINE - The United Methodist Churches of East Palestine invites the public to an evening of music featuring "The Pathfinders," a southern gospel trio, at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the Centenary United Methodist Church, 40 S. Market St. For additional information call the church at 330-426-2629.

Picnic offered by Leetonia Mennonite

LEETONIA - Leetonia Mennonite Church is announcing a free community picnic meal will be served at 6 p.m. Aug. 7 at Wick Park. A program featuring country gospel music follows at 7 p.m.

Drive-thru dinner set in North Lima

NORTH LIMA - The monthly drive-thru chicken dinner will be available from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Aug. 8 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave. The meal consists of stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie. Cost is $6. To order call 330-549-2588.

Gospel Music Revival to be held in Rogers

ROGERS - The fifth annual Northeastern Ohio Gospel Music Revival is scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 10 at Rogers Assembly of God, 8251 Sprucevale Road. Doors open at 4 p.m. This year's line-up includes The Sons of Liberty from Stanton, Ky., Nicholas Naylor from Pinch, W. Va., The Stevens Family from Warren, Calvary's Love from Doylestown and Glorybound from Negley.

Food will be available until intermission provided by the Rogers Youth Group. A free will offering will be taken.

Church reunion set at Concord Church

SALEM - A church reunion will be held on Aug. 11 at the Concord Church at Route 45 and Calla Road. All are welcome. A service begins at 11 a.m. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish to share.

Chicken 'drive-by' offered in Leetonia

LEETONIA - The monthly chicken "drive-by" dinner will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. Aug. 15, or until sold out, at the Leetonia United Methodist Church, 50 Lisbon St. The meal consists of a stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie. Cost is $7. Proceeds will be used for a new roof for the church.

The church will also host a school supply giveaway from 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 20 for children attending the Leetonia School District. The child must be accompanied by an adult and each child will be asked to bring a current report card as proof of attendance. For additional information call 330-427-6634 or 330-427-2037.

Big Back Yard plans 'Construction Night'

SALEM - Salem First Presbyterian Church's Big Back Yard program will partner with the Salem Library from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday for "Construction Night" at the church. The library will present stories, activities and crafts related to construction. Habitat for Humanity of Northern Columbiana County's construction manager, Scott Craven, will share information about Habitat's current building project. The free event will be held rain or shine.
