LISBON - In Columbiana County Municipal Court on Tuesday, a March 3 preliminary hearing and pretrial was set for Michael P. Hazen, 37, Quaker Lane, Salem, charged with a felony tampering with evidence and misdemeanor charges of weapons while intoxicated and obstructing official business. Hazen is accused of placing a .380-caliber gun in the trunk of his car, while impaired by alcohol. Witnesses reportedly saw him behind 480 Franklin St. while police were investigating an incident on South Broadway Sunday. During a traffic stop, Hazen reportedly denied several times having any guns in his vehicle. Police reportedly found a gun in the trunk and a loaded magazine for the gun in the crotch area of his clothes.
