Salem News

- A domestic dispute was reported at 12:58 a.m. Friday at a home on U.S. Route 62, Salem. Rebecca Fleming reported her husband, Mark Fleming, flipped out. He told deputies his 17-year-old son had come into his room after he and his wife argued and the son started causing trouble so the father took him by the arm and escorted him out. The son then reportedly threw a candle holder at him. The son told deputies he went into the room to question his father about his treatment of the mother and the father pushed him through the bedroom door, grabbed him by the hair and throat and began to throw him around. Additionally the father allegedly punched him on the head and the son punched him back in self-defense. The boy's younger brother and mother got into the confrontation. Rebecca Fleming also claimed her husband threatened to stab her son. Mark Fleming, 51, was charged with domestic violence.
