Crestview subdues Heartland Christian

COLUMBIANA — Ten Crestview players scored as the Rebels raced past Heartland Christian, 59-33, in girls basketball action Wednesday.

Taryn Gilbert scored a seson-high 16 points to go along with three assists and four steals to lead the Rebels, who improve to 9-3 on the season.

The Rebels opened up a 46-17 lead after three quarters before giving up 16 points in the final period.

Haley Eskra contributed 13 points, five assists and three steals to the winning effort. Brenna Auer collected seven points, eight rebounds, four assists and five steals. Krista Perry added seven points, Mara Halas grabbed eight rebounds and Kyrah Schultz made four steals.

Sydney Ogden paced Heartland with a game-high 20 points, 11 coming in the fourth quarter.

Crestview also won the junior varsity game, 28-4, which was shortened to one half. Shianna Mathes led the Rebels with 14 points.

The Rebels will play at Girard next Wednesday.
