Clippers sweep series from Blue Devils

LISBON–Columbiana’s Amanda Mellott had four RBIs and led the Clippers to a 10-5 win over Lisbon on Wednesday.

Alyssa Tohm and Gabrielle Herdman each had two hits for the Clippers.

Mallory Gallo had two hits for Lisbon.

Columbiana is now 2-3 and hosts Southern today.

Lisbon hosts Western Reserve.

BELOIT — West Branch got two hits each from Jordan Anderson, Grace Heath, Peyton Alazaus and Hannah Sprague in a 11-0 win over Minerva on Wednesday.

West Branch is 5-0 and 4-0 in the Northeastern Buckeye Conference.

Minerva falls to 3-2, 1-1.

Alazaus added two RBIs. One of Sprague’s hits was a triple.

West Branch goes to Alliance today.

AKRON — Bree Kohler’s two-run single in the 10th led South Range to a 2-0 win over Kirtland on Wednesday night at Firestone Stadium.

Kohler also got the win on the mound with 10 strikeouts.

South Range is now 6-2 and hosts Hubbard today.

UNITY–United’s Annie Patterson had a day on the mound and at the plate helping the Eagles beat East Palestine 11-0 in six innings on Wednesday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.

Patterson had 13 strikeouts in seven innings on the mound and had four hits with two RBIs offensively.

Also for United, Alyssa Inman had three singles and three RBIs. Megan Brewer had three singles.

United is now 4-0 (4-0 EOAC) and will host Salem on Friday.

East Palestine is 2-1 (2-1 EOAC) and will host Toronto today.

Sebring at Western Reserve (DH)

BERLIN CENTER–Western Reserve ran away with two games against Sebring on Wednesday.

In the first game Western Reserve won 15-0.

Layla Woolf had a homerun and a single with two RBIs for Western Reserve.

Alyssa Seresnky had two singles and two RBIs for the Blue Devils. Morgan Donithan had two singles and three RBIs.

Western Reserve took the second game 13-6.

Western Reserve is now 4-1 and wil travel to Lisbon today.

Springfield 6, Waterloo 2

WATERLOO–Casey Bacon’s three-run homer for Springfield was enough for the Tigers to beat Waterloo 6-2 on Wednesday.

Makenzy Capoullez had a single and a double for the Tigers.Molly Pontius had a double and a single. Abby Joseph had two singles.

Springfield is now 4-1 on the season.
