Golden Bears’ fast start is too much for Rebels
COLUMBIANA — Oak Glen ran out to a five-run lead in the fourth inning and held on for a 5-3 win over Crestview on Wednesday in prep softball action.
Hanna Patterson homered for the winners who had 10 hits. She added two other hits.
Skyler Mattern and Olivia Strank had RBIs to help the Crestview comeback.
Janaya Montgomery had five strikeouts on the mound for the Golden Bears in the winning effort.
Mackenzie Daub took the loss and had two strikeouts.

BELOIT — Kelsey Byers homered in the eighth inning to give West Branch a 2-1 win over Holy Name on Wednesday.
Hannah Sprague tripled in Destiny Blake to tie it at 1 in the bottom of the seventh. West Branch is at Marlinton today.
Byers also added a double.

ALLIANCE — Alyssa Inman had two hits but it wasn’t enough to get United going as Alliance knocked the Eagles off 1-0 on Wednesday.

LEETONIA–Harlie Detrick homered and the East Palestine bats were alive during a 13-3 win over Leetonia in six innings on Wednesday.
Taylor Hostetter had two doubles while Alish Dean and Johnston each had one for the Bulldogs.
Dean and Hostetter each had four RBIs for Eat Palestine.
For Leetonia, Lissie Lorch had a triple and Mckenzie Meade had a double.
East Palestine travels to Salem on Friday.
Leetonia will travel to Jackson-Milton today.

Sebring at Springfield (DH)
NEW MIDDLETOWN–Sprinfield’s softball team ran away with two big wins over Sebring on Wednesday at Springfield High School.
The Tigers took game one 20-0.
Mya Duskey had five hits and Jacqueline Kish had four hits to lead the Tigers offensive blast.
Springfield kept the scoring trend going and took game two 16-0.
Makenzy Capoullez had three hits and four RBIs for the Tigers. Carlee Bacon had two hits and two RBIs.
Sprinfield hosts Lisbon today.

TORONTO–Lisbon’s softball allowed Toronto to score a run in the bottom of the seventh and lost 4-3 to the Red Knights on Wednesday.
Autumn Oehlstrom had three hits for the Blue Devils. Kenedy Vrable and Emma Thompson each had two hits.
Sam Tinsely had seven strikeouts on the mound for Lisbon.
Lisbon travels to Springfield today.
