Quakers blast Carrollton

CARROLLTON — Juan Jose scored four goals in leading the Salem boys past Carrollton, 7-1, Tuesday.

William Cunningham, Krill Tonkinson and Alex Croxull added goals for the Quakers, who led 3-1 at halftime.

Jacob McLachlan had two assists, while Bryce Owen made seven saves in goal.

Salem (3-1) will host Hubbard at 7 p.m. Thursday.

United 1, Niles 1

HANOVERTON–The United girls soccer team tied Niles 1-1 Tuesday.

Kendyl Daggy scored the goal for the Eagles. Maddie Brieck had five saves in goal, while Sam Wolfe had two saves.

West Branch 2,

Alliance 1

BELOIT–The West Branch boys soccer team beat Alliance 2-1 in Eastern Buckeye Conference action Tuesday.

Ian Yarwood scored both goals for the Warriors, who improve to 3-1 overall.

Stevie Stenson and Griff Lough each had one assist. Jared Butler had five saves in goal.

West Branch is at Ravenna Thursday.

South Range 7,

Girard 0

GREENFORD–South Range clobbered Girard 7-0 in boys soccer action Tuesday.

Canaan Johnson led the Raiders (2-0) with a hat trick and an assist. Logan Baer, Zack Schick, Camden Thomas and Quinn Pierson each added one goal.

Logan Weaver totaled three assists, while Luke McConnell had two assists.

Matt Lucas had four saves in goal.

The Raiders are at Niles Thursday.

Crestview 2,

Edgewood 1

ASHTABULA –The Crestview boys soccer team improved to 3-1 with a 2-1 win over Edgewood on Tuesday.

Crestview’s goals were scored by freshmen Colt Crane and senior Jacob Wickline. Jacob Wickline had an assist. Freshmen Carter Blakeman made five saves.

For Edgewood, Ben Welty had a goal and Dalton Hanna made 15 saves.

Crestview will host champion at 5 p.m. Thursday.
