Eagles perfect in EOAC

HANOVERTON–The United boys soccer team completed a perfect Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference schedule with a 7-1 win over Columbiana Monday.

The Eagles are now 11-2-2 overall and 8-0 in the EOAC.

Zach Jewell led the scoring with two goals, while Daniel Blum and Luke Medure each had one goal and one assist. Kameron Seaman, Dustin Hull and Keaton Widlicka each had one goal. Ethan McDevitt added two assists.

Gabe Heinrich converted a penalty kick for Columbiana’s lone goal.

Noah Brieck had three saves in goal for United. Chris Costanzo had 14 saves for Columbiana, which drops to 5-5, 4-3.

United is at Mineral Ridge today. Columbiana is at Heartand Christian Wednesday.

West Branch 6,

Alliance 0

ALLIANCE–The West Branch girls soccer team remained unbeaten with a 6-0 win over Alliance Monday.

The ninth-ranked Warriors improve to 12-0-2 overall and 6-0 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference.

Gillian Koneval tallied four goals to lead the way, while Haley Jones and Lexi Biery each had one goal.

Abie Davis dished out three assists. Lexi Biery and Olivia McLean each had one assist.

West Branch won the jv match 8-0.

Maci McLean and Lacey Phillis each had three goals to lead the Warriors. Kamryn Briceland and Ashley James each had one goal. James and Briceland each had one assist.

Crestview 5,

LaBrae 0

LEAVITTSBURG–The Crestview boys soccer team clinched a share of the All-American Conference Blue Tier title by rolling to a 5-0 win over LaBrae Monday.

The Rebels, who are ranked 13th in Division III, improve to 12-2-1 overall and 11-0 on the AAC. They can wrap up the outright conference title when they visit second-place Campbell (12-3, 10-1) Wednesday.

Jacob Wickline led the Rebels with two goals. Colt Crane, Cory Dewell and Mitch Auer each added one goal Ryan Emch and Matt Jennings each contributed a pair of assists. Cory Dewell had one.

Keeper Carter Blakeman earned his 10th shutout of the season with six saves. Steven Lloyd also had three saves.

Leetonia 4, Crestview 2

LEETONIA–Leetonia defeated Crestview 4-2 in girls soccer action Monday.

Kylie Tullis had three goals for the Bears. Anna Buffone had one goal and two assists.

Springfield 8,

Waterloo 0

WATERLOO–Springfield blasted Waterloo 8-0 in girls soccer action Monday.

Kylee Kosek netted a hat trick for the Tigers, while Kaila LaMorticella added two goals. Gianna Latronica, Mary Grace Mason and Hannah Karabin all had one goal. Rebecca Catlos had three saves in goal.

United 6, Columbiana 0

COLUMBIANA — Samantha Wolfe scored three goals in leading United past Columbiana, 6-0, in girls soccer action Monday night.

Morgan Briceland also had one goal and two assists. Loren Swords added one goal and one assist and Celeste Hofmeister had a goal. Brooke Courtney and Abigail contributed assists.

The Eagles wll host Maplewood on Wednesday.

Heartland Christian 3, Wellsville 0

COLUMBIANA–The Heartland Christian boys soccer team defeated Wellsville, 3-0, Saturday.

Scoring for the Lions were Matthew Deniro, Micah Direnzo, and Hayden Stewart assisted by Direnzo and Sebastian Sharo. Zach LaBon had 12 saves in goal.

The Lions host Columbiana on Wednesday.
