Regular season action winding down

COLUMBIANA–The East Palestine girls basketball team picked up its 16th win of the season with a 67-25 victory over Heartland Christian Saturday.

Joclyn Fristik led the way with 14 points and five steals as the Bulldogs improve to 16-5 overall.

Jaliyah Mixon added 10 points, while Payton Sherry did a little bit of everything with eight points, five assists, five rebounds and five steals.

Also for the Bulldogs, Morgan Rutledge had nine points and five steals. Sara Buskirk had a solid game with eight points, all of them in the first quarter. Paige Snyder contributed to the defensive effort with five steals.

Madi Matthews led the Lions with nine points. Ambra Creighton added six points.

East Palestine hosts Lowellville Monday.

COLUMBIANA–The Crestview girls basketball team blew out Ashtabula Edgewood 62-21 Saturday.

The Rebels improve to 15-5 overall and 8-5 in the All-American Conference Blue Tier.

Haley Eskra had a solid all-around game for the Rebels with 14 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Krista Perry led the rebounding effort with 10 boards to go with nine points. Tanner Hoffer added 11 points and seven rebounds. Payton Huff handed out five assists.

Crestview won the jv game 51-24. Shelby Rambo led the way with nine points.

LEETONIA–The East Palestine boys basketball team turned back Leetonia 73-63 in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference action Saturday.

Dominic Posey led the Bulldogs (7-12) with 23 points. Jonathan Bertovich added 16 points, while Steve Darlington had 13 points.

Marco Ferry and Ethan Hartman each had 13 points for the Bears (2-18).

East Palestine won the jv game 57-44. Dalton Vance had 21 points for the Bulldogs. Nick Roller had 16 points for the Bears. Dylan Lennon and Ian Davis had eight and seven rebounds respectively.

The Bulldogs are at Lowellville Tuesday. Leetonia hosts Sebring Tuesday.
