Quaker cheerleaders compete with the best

Salem’s varsity cheerleading team finished third in the Div. IV, non-building category on Sunday during the Ohio Association of Secondary School Administrators State Cheerleading Championships at St. John Arena. Only champion St. Clairsville and second-place Harrison Central were ahead of the Quakers in competition which featured 19 teams. Salem finished fifth last season. Other teams in the Eastern Buckeye Conference who placed included Minerva (third place, Div. III, non-building), Alliance (fourth place, Div. III, non-building), Marlington (sixth place, Div. III, non-building), West Branch (17th place, Div. III, non-building) and Canton South (12th place, Div. IV, non-building).
