Watson’s blast powers Salem

SALEM — Salem’s baseball team recorded its second straight win by topping Lisbon 7-4 on Thursday at Rey Reisbeck Field.

Joey Watson hammered a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth to lead the charge.

Senior pitcher Josh Young got the win coming on in relief and junior Ricky Enlow got the save. Senior Adam Wilson led the team with two hits.

Nick Mundy had a hit and two RBIs for Lisbon.

The Quakers improve to 2-1 on the season and will host the United Eagles tonight.

YOUNGSTOWN — Crestview’s baseball team swept Liberty with a 12-7 win on Thursday in a six-inning game that was called due to darkness.

Keith Berger had four hits and three RBIs for the winners. Carter Blakeman and James Fitzgerald had two hits each.

Crestview is at Linsly today.

SEBRING–The Western Reserve baseball team blew out Sebring 24-0 Thursday.

The Blue Devils improve to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference.

Waterloo 2

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Springfield Local got multiple hits from Mitch Seymour, Nick Silke and Drew Clark in a 9-2 win over Waterloo on Thursday in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference play.

Springfield is 2-0 and plays Struthers on Saturday at Cene Park.
