Hutton pushes Quakers past Branch

SALEM — The Salem girls golf team improved to 7-6 with a 215-230 win over West Branch Monday at Flying B.

Leading the way for the Quaker were Kelly Hutton with a 46, Sloan Rudibaugh 53, Paige Bailey 55 and Lexi Miller 61.

For West Branch, Sidney Milliken had a 52, Lachlan Cameron 56, Sam Morris 60 and Gabby Lick 62.

Columbiana 178,

East Palestine 201

NEGLEY — Tyler Andersen’s 36 guided Columbiana to a 178-201 win over East Palestine at the East Palestine Country Club on Monday.

The Clippers improve to 12-1 overall.

Backing Andersen were Sean Whitehead with a 45, Riley McElwain 48 and Bayden Pipoly 49.

For East Palestine, Ricky Bell and Payton Sherry had 46s, Max Carvelli 52 and Taylor Bycroft and Kam Stacey 57s.

Columbiana will host East Palestine today on senior night.

West Branch 161,

Salem 178

SALEM — The West Branch boys golf team heads into the Eastern Buckeye Conference Tournament on a high note with a 161-178 win over Salem at Salem Hills Monday.

The Warriors –now 5-3 in EBC dual play — were led by Nick Pidgeon with a 37, Aiden Wiesemann 40, JD Brain 41 and Garrett Harvey 43. They are 5-3 in EBC dual play this season.

Salem drops to 2-7 overall and 1-7 in the EBC.

Leaders for the Quakers were Lane Rhodes with a 41, Dylan Ulrich 42, Carter Reid 47 and Nick Colbert 48.

The EBC Tournament will be held today at the Alliance Country Club.

Boardman 166,

South Range 181

BOARDMAN — Boardman’s boys golf team topped South Range 166-181 on Monday at Mill Creek North.

For South Range, Kaiden Sykes had a 42, Gavin Batdorff 43, Garrett Sheets 47 and Gavin Pahanish 49.

Ryan Sam had a 40 for the Spartans.

Columbiana 219,

Niles 236

WARREN — Columbiana disposed of Niles, 219-236, in girls golf action Monday at Old Avalon.

Morgan Dunlap led the Clippers with a 49, followed by Jessica Himes and EmmaRae Foy with 54s and Amanda Pan 62.

Minranda Bugos topped Niles with a 52.

Columbiana will play Ursuline at Stambaugh on Wednesday.
