Raiders keep rolling
GIRARD–The South Range boys soccer team dominated Girard 10-2 in Northeast 8 Athletic Conference action Thursday.
Canaan Johnson powered the Raiders with four goals, while Quinn Pierson had three goals and Luke McConnell had two goals. Camden Thomas added one goal.
Pierson finished with three assists, while Johnson and Mark Naples each had two assists. Thomas, Logan Weaver and Tom Landry each had one assist.
Braden Johnson had three saves in goal for the Raiders. Matt Lucas added one save.
The sixth-ranked Raiders improve to 8-1 overall and 7-0 in the Northeast 8. They host Canfield Saturday.
CORTLAND–United pounded Maplewood 8-2 in girls soccer action Thursday.
Samantha Wolfe and Morgan Briceland each recorded a hat trick to lead the Eagles, while Hannah Minor and Brooke Courtney each had one goal. Briceland and Emily Ingold each had one assist.
Madelynne Brieck had two saves in goal.
COLUMBIANA–The Crestview boys soccer team rolled to a 3-0 victory over Ursuline Thursday.
The Rebels improve to 8-1 overall.
Nick Novak, Cory Dewell and Noah Wickline accounted for the three Crestview goals. Jarred Kalina, Dale McGoogan and Dakota Shaffer provided assists. Carter Blakeman had eight saves in goal to give the Rebels their eighth shutout of the season.
The Rebels and Irish jv teams battled to a 0-0 draw.
The All-American Conference-leading Rebels host Champion Tuesday.
Mooney 4, West Branch 3
BELOIT –Cardinal Mooney toppled West Branch 4-3 in boys soccer action on Thursday.
Luke Johnson had two goals and an assist for the Warriors. Vito Maffei had another goal.
Jared Butler had six saves in goal.
