Warriors wrap up NET title

SALEM–The West Branch girls tennis team captured the Northeast Tennis League title Thursday with a 4-1 victory over Salem.

The Warriors improve to 11-3 overall and 10-0 in the NET.

Marina Egli and Makayla Randlett rallied helped deliver the victory by rallying from first-set deficits in their two singles matches.

West Branch hosts Ravenna Southeast Monday.

FIRST SINGLES: Marina Egli (WB) def. Elena Economous, 6-4, 6-3.

SECOND SINGLES: Emma Griffith (S) def. Abby Stephens, 6-3, 6-1.

THIRD SINGLES: Makayla Randlett (WB) def. Blake Oller, 6-4, 7-5.

FIRST DOUBLES: Ashlie Algaier-Emily Algaier (WB) def. Sam Sarginger-Emily Holt, 6-0, 6-0.

SECOND DOUBLES: Ashlyn Pinkerton-Faith Brown (WB) def. Laney Lankford-Makayla Clifton, 6-2, 6-3.

East Liverpool 5, Lordstown 0

LORDSTOWN–The East Liverpool girls tennis team blanked Lordstown 5-0 on Thursday.

The Potters improve to 9-3 overall and are at Beaver Local Monday.

FIRST SINGLES: McKenzie Harman (EL) def. Chloe Fleming, 6-0, 6-0.

SECOND SINGLES: Mallory Barnhouse (EL) def. Haylee mathey, 6-2, 6-2.

THIRD SINGLES: Haley Spahr (EL) def. Nikki Higinbotham, 6-1, 6-0.

FIRST DOUBLES: Isabella Morris-Gianna Davie (EL) won by forfeit.

SECOND DOUBLES: Hannah Swigert-Taylor Bell (EL) won by forfeit.
