Record shooting night for Western Reserve

LISBON — The hot-shooting Western Reserve girls basketball team set a pair of school records Monday in an 86-44 dismantling of Lisbon.

Reserve hit a school-record 18 threes as a team, eclipsing the previous mark of 12. Olivia Pater also set a single-game school record with seven threes, bettering the mark of six previously held by Kennedy Miller,

Pater finished her big night with 27 points and five assists. Laura Sigworth added 17 points, while Alyssa Serensky had 14 points and six rebounds. Kennedy Miller had 10 assists.

Izzy Perez had 15 points, eight assists and six rebounds for Lisbon. Maddie Liberati had 18 points and seven rebounds.

Reserve improves to 9-1 overall and hosts Waterloo next Monday. Lisbon falls to 5-5 and is at Heartland Christian Thursday.

Struthers 54, Crestview 44

STRUTHERS — Emma Elia scored a game-high 24 points in leading Struthers past Crestview, 54-44, Monday.

The Wildcats improve to 5-5, while the Rebels drop to 7-3.

Struthers led 37-24 through three quarters before Crestview scored 20 points in the fourth quarter.

Ashton Hughes scored 12 points and Krista Perry 10 for the Rebels. Tanner Hoffer grabbed 15 rebounds and made two steals. Mara Halas had four assists and Payton Huff three assists.

Struthers won the junior varsity game, 19-13, in two quarters. Ashton Hughes scored six points for the Rebels.

Crestview will play at Newton Falls on Saturday with the junior varsity game beginning at noon.

NORTH JACKSON–The Columbiana boys basketball team defeated Jackson-Milton 58-51 on Monday.

Ryan Fahs led the Clippers with 14 points, while Dalton Whitehair had 12 points and Sean Whitehead had 11 points. Hunter Zentner had nine points, nine rebounds and six assists.

The Columbiana JV team fell to Brookfield 43-36. Nick Million had 14 points, while Carter Murphy had 12 points.

MALVERN–The Lisbon boys basketball team fell to Malvern 74-60 on Monday.

Ryan McCullough led the Blue Devils (2-7) with 24 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Kaden Crawford added 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Blayne Brownfield had 11 points and seven rebounds.

Johnny Browning led Malvern with 28 points.

Lisbon hosts Wellsville Friday.
