Bears dump Knights
LEETONIA — While other area girls basketball teams sat Saturday out because of the snow the Leetonia Bears were busy topping Toronto 47-33.
Anna Buffone had 17 points to lead Leetonia to the win. Samantha Schneider added seven rebounds. Haleight Brock had 11 points and Taran Ferry had five assists and eight steals.

Reserve falls
BERLIN — Western Reserve’s girls basketball team made its first appearance at the Classic in the Country on Saturday, but its opponent was more than ready.
Napoleon, ranked No. 2 in Div. II, knocked off the Div. IV Blue Devils 72-31.
West Branch will take its turn in the girls basketball showcase event when it takes on Chippewa at 6 p.m. on Monday.
Postponements
Saturday’s winter storm postponed several area high school girls basketball games. The following were postponed: Lake Center at Heartland, Marlington at West Branch, Crestview at Liberty, Minerva at Carrollton, Philip Barbour at Oak Glen. Minerva at Carrollton will be made-up on Jan. 27. No make-up dates have been announced for the other postponed games.
