Blue Devils stun Wellsville by 26 points

LISBON — Lisbon delivered the shock of the early season by running away with a 60-34 win over Wellsville on Friday night in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.

Ryan McCullough had 22 points and four assists and Blayne Brownfield added 14 points as the Devils improved to 3-7 and 3-1 in the EOAC. Wellsville fell to 2-4 and 1-2 in the league.

Adam Spencer added 11 rebounds for the Devils, while Michael Davis had six boards. Joey Fisher had four assists and four steals.

Justin Wright scored 10 points for the Tigers who are at Oak Glen today.

Wellsville won the two-quarter jayvee game, 25-19. Isaiah Greathouse had eight points for the Tigers. Hunter Sturgeon had eight points for the Devils.

Lisbon hosts Heartland on Tuesday.

COLUMBIANA — Columbiana hit 11 three-pointers in a runaway 78-53 win over Leetonia on Friday night in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.

Ryan Fahs scored 18 points to lead the Clippers. Carter Pasco added 14 points. Matthew Mazei chipped in eight points and 10 boards.

Ian Davis sparked Leetonia with 23 points.

Columbiana won the jayvee game, 62-28. Nick Million had 24 points for the Clippers, while Jay Finley had 12 points for the Bears.

East Palestine 64, United 57

EAST PALESTINE –Jonathan Bertovich sparked East Palestine with 31 points as the Bulldogs overcame an early deficit to beat United 64-57 on Friday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.

East Palestine (2-5) was aided by Zion Figley’s 12 points and Tyler Bistarkey’s 10 points.

For United (0-8), Nate Miller had a career-high 22 points and 11 rebounds.

Keaton Baker added 14 points and Steffen Jarrett had 11 points.

United won the jayvee game, 64-57. Kaleb Nastari had 15 points for the Eagles.

East Palestine is at Columbiana on Tuesday, while United hosts Heartland next Friday.

Sebring 68, Springfield 66

SEBRING — Sebring kept its unbeaten record intact with a 68-66 win over Springfield Local on Friday in Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference play.

Sebring improves to 9-0 and 4-0 in the MVAC. Springfield falls to 3-4 and 2-2.

Gabe Lanzer scored 12 points to reach 1,000 for his career, while coach Brian Clark claimed his 200th career win. Clark is now 200-148 in 16 seasons. His career record at Sebring is 191-114.

Jake Hunter led the Trojans with 19 points, while Dylan Johnson had 12 points.

Drew Clark had 25 points for the Tigers with Evan Ohlin adding 15.
