Warriors take down Chippewa
MILLERSBURG — State-ranked West Branch held Chippewa to less than 22 percent shooting for a 34-29 win in the Classic in the Country on Monday night.
West Branch, ranked ninth in the Division II state poll, improves to 12-2. Chippewa falls to 9-5.
Peyton Alazaus led the Warriors with 13 points and six rebounds. Hannah Ridgway had eight points and seven rebounds and Carly Scarpitti five rebounds and two assists.
The game was tied 19-19 heading into the fourth quarter and the Warriors finished with a 15-10 run.
Celina Koncz guided the Chipps with 11 points and seven rebounds. Taylor Lambart grabbed 10 rebounds and Annabel Rodriguez seven.
The Warriors also won the junior varsity game, 57-55.
West Branch will play at Alliance on Wednesday.
