West Branch boys ranked

COLUMBUS — West Branch is making a move in the Associated Press Ohio high school boys basketball poll.

The Warriors (11-3), coming of wins over Salem and Alliance last week, are ranked 13th in Division II. West Branch is in first place in the Eastern Buckeye Conference and will host Hubbard on Saturday.

Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference co-leader McDonald (13-1) climbs a spot to sixth in Division IV. The Blue Devils will host Bristol today.

McDonald senior Zach Rasile scored 41 points in a 91-49 win over Lowellville on Friday, moving him into sixth place on Ohio’s all-time scoring list with 2,598 career points, just 57 behind LeBron James.

Sebring (9-4) drops out of the Division IV poll for the first time this season. The Trojans lost four straight games since being ranked No. 2 two weeks ago. The Trojans will host Leetonia today.

Boardman (10-1) is eighth in Division I, Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary (9-3) is first in Division II and Malvern (11-2) is 16th in Division IV. Malvern will play at Southern Local on Saturday and will host United on Feb. 18.
