COLUMBIANA — Five Columbiana players combined for nine three-pointers that propelled the third-seeded Clippers past sixth-seeded Youngstown Ursuline, 54-43, in a Division III sectional final Saturday.

The Clippers snapped a three-game losing streak to improve to 17-6.

Grace Witmer shot 3-of-4 from three-point range for 13 points along with four rebounds, while Tori Long also had 13 points with seven rebounds and three steals.

Kayla Muslovski collected 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals. Grace Hammond added points and three steals, Madison Moser grabbed 12 rebounds and Krissa Tringhese had five assists.

The Clippers used three three-pointers to jump out to a 17-10 lead in the first quarter on the way to victory.

Columbiana will play second-seeded South Range in the district semifinals at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Struthers Fieldhouse.

Ursuline wrapped up the season with a 9-15 record.

COLUMBIANA — Fourth-seeded Crestview ouscored fifth-seeded Rootstown in every quarter for a 56-44 win in a Division III sectional final Saturday.

The Rebels improve to 15-8 and will meet top-seeded Liberty in a district semifinal at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Struthers Fieldhouse. Liberty beat Crestview twice in All-American Conference play during the regular season.

Krista Perry led the way for the Rebels with a game-high 17 points, four rebounds and three steals. Tanner Hoffer added 12 points, four rebounds and two steals and Addison Bandy 10 points, four steal and two assists. Payton Huff had eight rebounds, three steals and two assists and Mara Halas dished out three assists.

Karlie Duvall guided Rootstown with 16 points, followed by Kasidy Smith with 13.

Rootstown finished with 17-6 record.

LISBON — It was the end of an era for Lisbon girls basketball on Saturday.

Record-setting seniors Maddie Liberati and Izzy Perez gave the fourth-seeded Blue Devils a chance before falling to fifth-seeded Jackson-Milton, 50-42, in a Division IV sectional final at Nace Gymnasum.

Jackson-Milton improves to 14-9 and will play top-seeded McDonald at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday in a Division IV district semifinal at Mineral Ridge High School.

Liberati totaled 15 points, 17 rebounds and five blocks, while Perez collected 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Fellow senior Bryanna VanGiesen added 10 points. Tabby Ketchum grabbed four rebounds.

Courtney Mercer and Camryn Mitchell each scored 12 points to lead the Bluejays. Abigail Spalding followed with 10 points.

Lisbon took a 14-7 lead early in the second quarter as Liberati scored eight points.

Jackson-Milton scored the next eight points and the team settled into a 20-20 tie at haltime.

The Blue Devils, who dressed nine players, finished with an 11-12 record.

BERLIN CENTER — Western Reserve is going to ride 6-foot-2 Danielle Vuletich in the girls basketball tournament.

Vuletich totaled 33 points and 19 rebounds in leading second-seeded Western Reserve past 10th-seeded Valley Christian, 58-42, in a Division IV sectional finals Saturday.

The Blue Devils jumped ahead 34-7 at halftime and 53-17 after three quarters, including 30 points from Vuletich.

Western Reserve improves to 19-4 and will play third-seeded Newton Falls in the district semifinals at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Mineral Ridge High School.

Other leaders for the Blue Devils were Alyssa Serensky with six points, five steals and four assists, Kennedy Miller seven rebounds and three assists, Brooke Morris four rebounds, Olivia Pater four steals and Laura Sigworth three assists.

For Valley Christian, Kristin Gill scored 19 points and DiAndra Tensley added 10.

Valley Christian concluded the season with 5-17 record.

Shar’Da Williamson had 18 points to lead the All-American Conference champions to a 61-23 win over the Eagles.

United ends the season 14-10.

Liberty will face No. 4 seed Crestview at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Struthers Fieldhouse in the first district semifinal.

Madison Kibler scored six points to lead United.

Leetonia ended its season at 14-9. Anna Buffone led the Bears with 10 points.

Sydney Ogden led the Lions with 13 points.
