Back-to-back hole-in-ones

YOUNGSTOWN – Tony Serluco of Campbell aced back-to-back holes Monday during a round at Mill Creek Park’s Par 3 course.

Serluco scored his first hole-in-one on the 95-yard 14th hole with a 7 iron. He followed that up with an ace on his next shot, the 70-yard 15th hole with an 8 iron.

It was the first two hole-in-ones of his life.

He finished his nine-hole round with a 19.

Purple Raiders draw a crowd

ALLIANCE — The University of Mount Union is ranked among the nation’s leaders in NCAA Division III men’s basketball attendance.

The Purple Raiders went 16-0 this past season in the McPherson Academic and Athletic Complex (MAAC), averaging 842 fans a game to rank 11th in the nation.

Hope led the nation averaging 2,214 fans Wittenberg (1,392) was second followed by Wooster (1,260), Marietta (1,250), Calvin (1,246), Wisconsin-Stevens Point (1,097), Randolph-Macon (950), Saint John’s (Minn.) (907), Whitworth (905) and Augustana (Ill.) (897).

The Raiders finished with a school-best 27-3 record and won two tournament games at home to advance to the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 before the season was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
