Columbiana moves to 7-0

COLUMBIANA — Columbiana took down Lisbon, 25-7, 25-15, 25-19, Thursday.

The Clippers move to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in league. Grace Witmer had four kills, six aces, six digs and 14 assists. Maci Linehart had 14 digs. Tori Long added eight kills and nine digs. Cessna Stoy finished with five digs and 13 assists and Julia Rapp added four kills and one ace.

For the Blue Devils (0-5), Destiny Grey had two aces and five points and McKenna Dailey had 10 digs.

In the jayvee match, Lisbon defeated Columbiana 25-18, 19-25, 25-11. For the Clippers (4-3), Mia Strohecker had four kills and two aces and Maria Malcomson had three kills and eight assists.

For the Blue Devils, Madison Marriner had 14 points.

Columbiana is next on the court at Wellsville on Tuesday.

Lisbon will next host Valley Christian on Tuesday.

Wellsville 3, Southern 0

SALINEVILLE — The Wellsville volleyball team is off to a fast start.

The Tigers improved to 6-0 with 25-17, 25-10, 25-9 win over Southern Local in Eastern Ohio Athletic Confernence play Thursday.

For the Indians (2-4), Delaney Mellott had eight point and six digs, Rylee Mellott eight assists, Ashley Shroades six kills and Hannah Reynolds three kills and two blocks.

For the Tigers (5-0), Emily McNicol had two kills and 22 assists, Aubri Ramsey had six kills, Emma Smith had 14 kills, Greta Cartwright had four aces, three kills and 11 assists, Meaghan Nixon had five kills, Alana Amato had two blocks and Jenna McNicol had an ace and 21 digs.

Wellsville also won the junior varsity match, 25-16, 25-11.

The Indians were paced by Katie Calderon with three points and five sets, Hannah Price three points and Esther Forbes three kills.

The Tigers were paced by Paige Green with five aces and four assists and Makenzi Nixon with three aces and six assists.

Southern will play at United on Tuesday.

Wellsville will play at East Liverpool at 11 a.m. Saturday.

Crestview 3, Brookfield 0

COLUMBIANA– Crestview defeated Brookfield 25-12, 25-14, 25-9 Thursday.

Shelby Rambo led the way for the Rebels (3-1) with 10 kills and an ace. Lucy Montgomery had nine kills, three aces and eight digs, Molly Emch had four kills and six blocks and setter Grace Auer had 14 assists, eight kills, six aces and three digs.

Crestview also won the jayvee match 25-15, 25-16. For the Rebels (3-1), Madison Davis had four kills, Meredith Hart had 10 points and four aces and Emily Downey had seven digs and three aces.
