Quaker girls ring up 10th victory of the season
WARREN — Salem’s girls soccer team made it 10 for 10 with a 9-0 win over Warren JFK on Monday.
The team was led in scoring by outside back Hannah Kelm with two goals. Rylee Hutton contributed two goals, as well. Also contributing to the scoring tally were Paige Bailey, Hanna Gaither, Mikaylynn Murphy, Chloe Wilhelm, and Lauryn Barton. Abby Perry and Clara Double each contributed two assists. Annie Davidson also had an assist.
Salem is at Marlington on Wednesday.
East Palestine 2
COLUMBIANA — Columbiana’s boys soccer team ousted East Palestine 7-2 on Monday.
For the Clippers, Gabe Heinrich scored two goals, bringing his career total to 101 goals. Collin Schick and James Porter each had two goals and an assist. Ashton Kakavros scored a goal. Drake Daugherty added two assists. Finn Carney had an assist. Nate Burnell had two saves in goal.
The Clippers host Jackson-Milton on Saturday.
Columbiana 11, Liberty 0
COLUMBIANA — Anna Goehring tallied three goals and an assist in Columbiana’s 11-0 win over Liberty on Monday in girls soccer play.
Both Lily Marsco and Adalyn Quigley added a pair of goals each. Ella Nichols, Maria Costanzo, Breanna Yerke and Cianna Crawford each contributed a goal in the contest. Rogan Stryffeler had three assists. Ava Bryant and Lily Marsco also added one save each in goal as the Clippers outshot Liberty 31-4.
West Branch 5,
CARROLLTON — West Branch’s boys soccer team defeated Carrollton 5-1 on Monday.
Vito Maffei and Justin Cederbloom both had two goals for Branch. Ian Yarwood had a goal and assist. Maffei also had an assist.
West Branch hosts Alliance today.
Beaver Local 7, Minerva 4
CALCUTTA — Beaver Local’s girls soccer team was a 7-4 winner over Minerva on Saturday.
Beaver Local is 3-4-3 and is at East Liverpool on Sept. 30.
For the Beavers, Chansyn Hoppel had four goals and an assist. Jordan Palmers had a goal and two assists. MaitLynn Buck had a goal and two assists. Michelle Stoneburner had a goal.
Hailey Russell had seven saves in goal.
POLAND — Columbiana’s girls golf team finished second in Div. II on Monday at the Terlesky Invitational at the Lake Club.
Poland won Div. II title with a 370. The Clippers carded a 401.
For the Clippers, Morgan Dunlap had a 94, Isabella Travis 97, Jessica Himes 104 and EmmaRae Foy 106.
Massillon Jackson won the Div. I crown with a 335. Overall medalist was Jackson’s Avery Wright with a 73.

South Range 3, St. Thomas 0
GREENFORD — South Range downed St. Thomas Aquinas 25-13, 25-13, 25-10 on Monday.
For the winners, Izzy Lamparty had 15 kills, Reagan Irons 15 digs, Bri Hiner 19 assists and four aces. Reagan Irons had 15 digs.
South Range won the jayvee portion, 25-9, 25-10.
Heartland 3, Lisbon 0
COLUMBIANA — Heartland knocked off Lisbon, 25-13, 25-19, 25-11 ,Monday.
Lysida Wilson totaled 36 assists, 14 points, two aces and seven digs for the Lions. Emma Hall had 11 points, four aces, 15 kills, 10 digs and three blocks; Madison Matthews 10 points, five aces, two kills and three blocks; Makayla Osborn 15 kills and 13 digs; and Mya Hoffman seven points and two aces.
For Lisbon, Mya Emmerling had six points and McKenna Dailey added eight digs.
Lisbon (3-7) hosts United today. Heartland (5-5) hosts East Palestine Wednesday.
Lisbon won the jayvee match, 25-13, 25-15, behind Madison Marriner’s 20 points.
For the Lions, Jiana Shar had six points, three aces and nine digs and Elise Wintersteller four points and four kills.
United 3, Lordstown 0
LORDSTOWN — United dropped Lordstown 25-21, 25-21, 25-21 on Monday.
United is 9-3. For the Eagles, Savannah Burton had 17 points, four aces and five kills. Taylor Cope had nine points, three aces and four kills. Tori Tschappatt had 15 kills and seven points. Haley Dees had 25 assists.
United won the jayvee match, 25-22, 25-15. Samantha Lippiatt had six points and two aces. Grace Knight had three points, three aces and five kills.
United is at Lisbon today.
COLUMBIANA — Crestview topped Salem 25-21, 25-19 on Monday in freshman action.
For the Rebels, Gianna Wycoff had 11 points, eight aces and six digs. Sophia Lewis had four points, an ace, five digs and two kills.
Crestview is at Canfield on Sept. 28.
