Salem girls rout Columbiana

SALEM — Five Salem players scored two goals as the Quakers booted Columbiana, 11-0, Monday night.

The Quakers scored seven goals in the first half as they improve to 7-0 on the season.

Paige Bailey, Rylee Hutton and Abby Perry each had two goals and an assist to lead the way. Annie Davidson and Zoe DeLand each contributed two goals. Clara Double rounded out the scoring with a goal.

Mikaylynn Murphy and Bri Cibula had assists. Sam Moore recorded one save in goal.

The Quakers will host Minerva at 7 p.m. Wednesday night.

Beaver 2, Salem 1

SALEM — Beaver Local scored two goals in the second half, including one late, to down Salem, 2-1, in boys soccer action Monday.

Chase Flati and Zach Smith scored the two goals for the Beavers. Alex Miller assisted on both.

Jacob McLachlan scored Salem’s goal. Caiden Hart had eight saves in goal.

The Quakers are 2-5 on the season. They will play at Minerva at 7 p.m. today.

Beaver Local plays at Indian Creek on Wednesday.

Crestview 3, Newton Falls 1

NEWTON FALLS — Maci Shaffer scored two goals and Karagin Miller got another in leading Crestview past Newton Falls, 3-1, in girls soccer action Monday night.

Rylee Shaffer added an assist. Ellie Derringer made five saves.

The Rebels will play at Salem on Thursday.

United 4, Jefferson County Christian 1

HANOVERTON — United improved to 6-1-1 with a 4-1 victory over Jefferson County Christian on Monday.

Kade Blake recorded two goals for the Eagles. Albert Berenguer and Ethan Stout each scored once with Louden Stryffeler and Ethan Hively recording assists. Dylan Thompson recorded three saves in goal for United.

United hosts Bristol on Thursday.

United 11, Leetonia 1

HANOVERTON–The United girls soccer team used an offensive onslaught to take down Leetonia 11-1 and move to 6-3 on the season on Monday night.

Sam Wolfe and Addyson Blazer recorded hat tricks for the Eagles and Morgan Briceland and Emily Ingold added two goals a piece. Brooke Courtney recorded a goal. Katie Dees recorded three saves in goal.

United is next at West Branch

East Liverpool 1, Carrollton 0

EAST LIVERPOOL — Ayden Payne scored an unassisted goal in the first half to give East Liverpool a 1-0 win over Carrollton in boys soccer action Monday.

Cole Bailey made four saves in goal for the shutout.

East Liverpool (2-2-1) will play at Edison today.
