Warriors take control in EBC tilt

West Branch’s Riley Tuel goes up against Salem’s Kaley Davis on Tuesday at West Branch High School.

BELOIT — Riley Tuel had 21 points, five aces, nine assists and seven kills as West Branch downed Salem 25-10, 25-23, 25-23 on Tuesday in Eastern Buckeye Conference play.

Hannah Rush added 14 assists. Sydney Mercer had 10 kills.

For Salem, Morgan McGaffick had 7 assists, Kaley Davis 7 kills, Rylie Troy 15 digs and Emma Hochadel 3 aces.

West Branch is 10-3 and 5-1 in the league.

West Branch won the jayvee portion, 21-25, 25-10, 25-11.

Charity Rastetter had 12 points for the Warriors.

Crestview 3, Champion 0

WARREN– Crestview volleyball improved to 10-2 overall and 6-0 in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference after taking down Champion 25-12, 25-13, 25-12 on Tuesday.

For the Rebels, Grace Auer had 10 digs, nine kills, two aces and a block. Molly Emch had nine kills. Shelby Rambo had eight kills, Lainey Mercure had 15 digs and 13 points and Lucy Montgomery had 16 assists, 10 kills, seven digs and five aces.

In jayvee action, Crestview defeated Campbell 25-9, 25-13 to also move to 10-2. the Rebels, Madalyn Black had eight points, four kills and three aces, Katie Lissi had three kills and Laney Ericson had three kills and a block.

Columbiana 3,

East Palestine 0

COLUMBIANA– Columbiana volleyball defeated East Palestine on Tuesday 25-21, 25-23, 25-12. This moves the Clippers to 12-2 on the season.

For the Clippers, Julia Rapp had seven digs, five kills, four aces and 19 points. Camille Zentner had five kills and four blocks. Grace Whitmer had 13 assists, 10 digs, five kills and three aces. Tori Long had six kills and six digs and Maddie Witherow had 12 digs, four kills and three aces.

In jayvee action, East Palestine defeated Columbiana 25-18, 25-20.

For Columbiana, Madison Burbick had five assists and four kills and Delaney Dixon had five digs, three points and an ace.

Columbiana is next in action at Springfield on Monday.

United 3, Lisbon 1

LISBON– United volleyball defeated Lisbon 25-15, 25-15, 26-28, 28-26 on Tuesday.

For Lisbon (3-8), Eliza Baker had 16 assists and five points. Justyce Vrabel and Cami Freeland had eight kills. Mya Emmerling and Brooke VanGeisen had eight points each.

For United (10-3), Tori Tschappatt had 16 kills, 10 points and six aces. Savannah Burton had 10 points and seven kills, Hannah Congo had seven kills and seven points and Haley Dees added 33 assists and five points.

In jayvee action, Lisbon defeated United 25-22, 25-19.

For Lisbon, Brooklyn Cousins had six points.

For United, Samantha Lippiatt had four aces and three kills.

Lisbon will take on East Palestine next at home on Thursday.

Southern 3, Leetonia 0

LEETONIA — Southern Local pounced on Leetonia, 25-11, 25-11, 25-14 on Tuesday.

For the Indians, 5-7, Kya McCulley had 14 points. Rylee Mellott added 13 points and 15 assists. Ashley Shroads had 11 points and eight kills.

Leetonia won the reserve match, 8-25, 25-21, 25-23. For the Indians, Aleah Bach had 14 points. Laryn Jackson had five kills. Esther Forbes had five assists.

South Range 3,

Struthers 0

GREENFORD — South Range knocked off Struthers 25-20, 25-18, 25-20 on Tuesday.

South Range is 9-6.

Madie Mook had three aces for the Raiders. Izzy Lamparty added 12 kills. Reagan Irons had 17 digs. Sarah Kuhns had 14 assists.

Struthers won the jayvee portion 25-21, 25-19.
