Warriors tie with Spartans
BELOIT — West Branch’s girls soccer team played to a scoreless draw against Boardman on Saturday.
Jillian Pidgeon led the attack with six shots, and Sophia Gregory and Emma Egli each added three shots. Amanda Davidson and the defense recorded a clean sheet, limiting Boardman’s shots on goal to three.
West Branch is at Ursuline on Wednesday.
Crestview 12, LaBrae 1
COLUMBIANA — The state-ranked Crestview boys soccer team bested LaBrae 12-1 on Saturday.
Ryan Emch had a hat trick for the Rebels along with two saves. Nick Novak added two goals and an assist. Noah Wickline, Travis Diem, Carter Blakeman, Colt Crane, Cutter Crane, Matt DeNiro and Andrew Bucey also scored.
DeNiro assisted on three goals. Wickline had two assists. Crane and Zach Wellman also had assists.
Carter Blakeman and Tyler Mellot had one save each.
The Rebels are 7-0 and 3-0 in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference. In the latest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association poll the Rebels are ranked eighth in Div. III.
Crestview is at Mineral Ridge on Tuesday.
United 1, Ursuline 1
HANOVERTON — United Local and Ursuline’s boys soccer teams battled to a 1-1 draw on Saturday. Kade Blake scored for the Eagles with an assist from Ethan Stout. Cooper Cardelein had the lone goal for the Irish. Dylan Thompson recorded two saves for the Eagles. United hosts Jefferson County Christian on Monday and Ursuline hosts West Branch Tuesday.

HANOVERTON — Ursuline’s girls soccer team blanked United 3-0 on Saturday.
United falls to 6-3 and hosts Leetonia on Monday.
Madelynne Brieck made six saves for the Eagles.
COLUMBIANA — Columbiana’s volleyball team made quick work of Valley Christian 25-10, 25-20, 25-15 on Saturday.
The Clippers are 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.
For Columbiana, Tori Long had 14 kills, 10 digs and six points.
Julia Rapp had eight kills, 12 points and five aces.
Grace Witmer had 19 assists, 11 points and six digs. Maci Linhart contributed 15 digs and seven points. Maddie Witherow added six kills, seven digs and nine points.
Columbiana won the jayvee portion, 25-12, 25-15. Brileigh Kocanjer had six kills for the winners. Columbiana hosts Lowellville today.
East Palestine 3, Struthers 0
STRUTHERS — East Palestine’s volleyball team carded a 25-15, 25-7, 25-18 win over Struthers on Saturday.
McKenna Griffith had 17 points for the 5-2 Bulldogs. Morgan Cheurco had 21 assists. Emily Berger chipped in 11 points and 10 kills.
East Palestine hosts Wellsville on Tuesday.
West Branch 3, Hubbard 0
HUBBARD — West Branch’s volleyball team bested Hubbard 25-16, 25-22, 25-13 on Saturday.
Bailey Campbell had 11 points for the Warriors, 7-2. Riley Tuel had 19 assists. Sydney Mercer produced 19 kills.
West Branch won the jayvee match, 25-22, 16-25, 25-21. Skyler Greeneisen had 10 kills.
Crestview 3, Southeast 0
RAVENNA — Crestview’s volleyball team outpaced Ravenna Southeast 25-13, 25-9, 25-14 on Saturday afternoon.
Crestview is 6-2 overall on the season.
For the Rebels, Grace Auer had 12 kills, 11 digs and 13 assists. Shelby Rambo had nine kills and six blocks. Molly Emch had five kills and three blocks. Kendra Greaves had 16 digs and 14 points. Lucy Montgomery was key with 15 assists, 11 kills, seven digs and 13 points.
The Rebel jayvee team won 25-12, 25-18 to move to 6-2.
Katie Lissi had nine kills and six assists, while Emily Downey had 14 points and 15 digs.
Jackson-Milton topped Crestview’s freshman team 25-17, 25-13, 25-23 on Saturday as well. Sophia Lewis had 12 kills for the Rebels.
Ella Corano had 15 points, four aces and eight digs. Riley Grim had nine aces and 10 assists.
East Liverpool 3, South Range 0
GREENFORD — East Liverpool had the hot hand on Saturday as the Potters downed South Range, 25-22, 25-20, 25-17.
Sharnae Wilson had 16 kills and four blocks for the winners. Addison Galeoti added 24 digs. Alexa Aldrich had 18 assists. East Liverpool is 6-1.
South Range (5-4) was led by Reagan Irons and Julia Blasko who had 18 digs each. Izzy Lamparty had seven kills. Jamie Feren had seven assists.
East Liverpool won the jayvee portion, 25-22, 21-25, 26-24.
RIDGELEY, W.Va. — Oak Glen junior Sophia Arner captured the top spot on Saturday at the 27th annual Frankfort Invitational.
Arner won in 22:07. The Golden Bears’ Kennedy McGeehan was fourth in 23:04.
Oak Glen’s girls were sixth as a team. Philip Barbour was the team champion.
Oak Glen junior Konnor Allison was third (17:38) in the boys race. Mason Konchar was ninth (18:43).
The Oak Glen boys team was second to the hosts in the team standings.
