United advances past Crestview

Hanoverton– The United girls soccer team defeated Crestview 5-3 on Thursday night in Hanoverton.

For United, Addyson Blazer scored two goals and Samantha Wolfe, Morgan Briceland and Hannah Minor each scored one goal. Wolfe and Abigail Hruby each recorded an assist.

For Crestview, Kamden Miller and Maci Schaffer scored goals.

In goal, Madelynne Breick had one save in goal.

United will play the No. 1 seeded Springfield on Monday at Springfield at 6pm.

Burton Berkshire 10,

Leetonia 1

BURTON– The Leetonia girls soccer team was defeated by Burton Berkshire 10-1 in the division three sectional final on Thursday night.

Burton will play the No. 7 seed Rootstown in the district semifinal on Monday at Berkshire at 6pm.

Youngstown Cardinal Mooney 5,

Salem 1

SALEM– The Salem Quakers girls soccer team was defeated by Youngstown Cardinal Mooney 5-1 in their division three sectional final match Thursday night. The Quakers got out to a quick 1-0 lead in the first two minutes after a goal by Rylee Hutton on a pass from Abby Perry, but Mooney scored five unanswered goals to get the win.

Mooney will take on the No. 2 seed Canfield at 6pm at Canfield in the district semifinal

South Range 10,

Waterloo 2

GREENFORD– The No. 2 seeded South Range girls soccer team rolled the No. 16 seed Waterloo 10-2 on Thursday night to take home the sectional title.

South Range will next face the No. 8 seed Garrettsville Garfield on Monday in the district semifinal at 6pm.

Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin 8,

West Branch 3

BELOIT- The No. 4 seeded West Branch girls soccer team was defeated by the No. 9 seeded Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin 8-3 in the division two sectional final.

For West Branch, Emma Egli, Jillian Pidgeon and Addy Jones each contributed a goal.

In goal, Amanda Davidson recorded six saves.

NDCL only led 3-1 at the half, but broke open the game with five second half goals.

West Branch finishes with a 13-2-2 record.

NDCL will travel to face the No. 6 seed Chagrin Falls Kenston on Monday at 6pm for the district semifinal.
