Salem raids South Range

GREENFORD — Salem defeated South Range in a tightly-contested game, 53-46, Saturday.

The Quakers improve to 8-4, while the Raiders drop to 5-8.

For Salem, Drew Weir had a game-high 17 points, Brock Young 11, and Jon Null 10.

For South Range, Mike Patrone had 15 points.

South Range won the junior varsity game, 56-35. South Range’s Dylan Turvey scored 14 points. Salem’s Cam Johnson had eight points.

Salem will host Warren JFK on Tuesday.

HANOVERTON–United led 34-9 at halftime and rolled past East Palestine, 71-14, Saturday in EOAC action.

For United, Nate Miller had 19 points and Steffen Jarrett had 13 points.

For East Palestine, Tyler Bistarkey had eight points.

East Palestine is at Wellsville on Friday.

In jayvee action, United won 42-18. For United, Luke Courtney had eight points and for East Palestine, Shane Richardson had eight points.

SEBRING–Sebring improved to 4-12 on the season after blowing past Ashtabula St. John, 80-22, Saturday.

For Sebring, Dylan Johnson outscored St. John by himself with a game-high 25 points. Matt Byrd added 12 points, while Andrew Lamp and Frankie Lozoya had 10 apiece.

Sebring hit 13 three-pointers as a team.

Sebring will travel to Western Reserve on Tuesday.

CALCUTTA– The Wellsville Tigers used a 21-2 advantage in the first quarter to defeat Beaver Local, 67-46, Saturday.

For Wellsville (6-2), Luke Green had 27 points and 12 rebounds, Isaiah Greathouse had 15 points and six assists and Jaxon Brewer had 11 points and four steals.

For Beaver Local (4-4), Sky Pappas had 14 points and Austin Cline had 13 points.

Wellsville will host Valley Christian today.

In jayvee action, Beaver Local won 50-41. For Wellsville, Korbin Kersey had 11 points. Five Beavers had 10 points.
