South Range wins close one

South Range 50, Hubbard 44

GREENFORD- The South Range boys basketball team survived a close one at home against Hubbard on Saturday. South Range held Hubbard to just 17 points in the second half to pull out the win.

For South Range, Dylan Turvey recorded a game-high 15 points for the Raiders. Brandon Mikos and Mike Patrone added nine points each.

For Hubbard, Andrew Frank and Ryan Laird each recorded 14 points.

South Range will host Lakeview on Tuesday.

SEBRING- The Sebring boys basketball team fell to Waterloo 40-26 on Saturday. Sebring allowed 29 first half points and could never close the gap.

For Sebring (2-8), Frankie Lozoya had 10 points and Dylan Johnson had nine points.

For Waterloo, Kyle Shockley had 17 points and Jack Sandel had 13 points.

Sebring will travel to Mineral Ridge on Tuesday.

Girls basketball

West Branch 62, Alliance 29

BELOIT-The West Branch girls basketball team defeated Alliance for the second time this season, this time winning 62-29 on Saturday to improve to 10-3 overall on the season and 5-2 in league. West Branch has now outscored Alliance 117-51 in two games this season. Alliance falls to 0-9.

For the Warriors, Jillian Pidgeon had 18 points and Bella Laut added 11 points. West Branch controlled the boards in this one, outrebounding Alliance 30-14.

SEBRING-The Sebring girls basketball team defeated Heartland Christian 48-44 on Saturday.

For Sebring, Emma Whaley recorded 20 points and nine rebounds. Blake Thomas added eight points and 18 rebounds. Aebi D’Ostroph had 13 points.

For Heartland, Madi Matthews had 20 points and Julia Reynolds added 14 points.

Sebring will host Waterloo on Monday.
