Indians in control in EOAC

LISBON — Southern moved another step closer to the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference title with a 55-50 win over Lisbon on Wednesday in boys action.

Southern is 12-5 and 10-2 in the league. The Indians have one less loss than Wellsville and Valley Christian.

Southern will host Lisbon today.

Brock Smalley had 20 points for the winners. Bradly Sloan added 13 points, eight rebounds, three steals and three assists.

Blayne Brownfield had 21 points and nine rebounds for the Devils, 14-6, 9-4. Ryan McCullough had 17 points and five rebounds.

Southern won the jayvee game, 53-32. Cooper Edmiston had 16 points for the winners. Austin Dailey had 17 points for Lisbon.

East Palestine 38

EAST PALESTINE — Columbiana opened up a 33-6 halftime lead with six three-pointers and rolled over East Palestine, 60-38, in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference action Wednesday.

Dalton Whitehair topped the Clippers with Dalton Whitehair 15 points, four assists and four rebounds. Anthony Hall contributed 12 points, Nick Million scored 11 points, Tyler Andersen was 3-of-4 from three-point range for nine points, Nick Million had five rebounds Tony Koncanjer added four rebounds.

The Clippers went 7-of-16 from the foul line, including Hall 4-of-4 shooting in the first quarter.

Dom Wycoff paced the Bulldogs with 18 points.

Columbiana also won the junior varsity game, 47-33.

Columbiana will host Leetonia today, while East Palestine entertains Wellsville on Friday.
