Warriors fall to Fitch

AUSTINTOWN — Austintown Fitch oustcored West Branch in each of the last three quarters on the way to a 49-43 win Friday.

Fitch improves to 8-13, while West Branch wraps up the regular season at 16-6.

After West Branch led 8-7 in the first quarter, Fitch finished the game with a 42-35 scoring edge.

Jackson-Milton 62, Lisbon 56

LISBON — Lisbon saw an eight-point first quarter lead evaportate as Jackson-Milton downed the Blue Devils 62-56 on Friday.

Lisbon (14-8) was dealt a hard blow when leading scorer Blayne Brownfield went down with an ankle injury on the team’s first possession. He was averaging 24 points a game.

Ryan McCullough led the Devils with 23 points and five assists, while Adam Spencer added 13 points. Hunter Sturgeon had 11 points and eight rebounds. Hunter Dailey chipped in 10 boards.

Jackson-Milton won the jayvee game, 41-36. Austin Dailey had 15 points for Lisbon.

Lisbon will meet the winner of Wellsville and Badger in the Div. IV sectional final next Friday.

Lowellville 63, Sebring 38

SEBRING — Lowellville had a 36-16 advantage in the first and third quarters to pull away from Sebring, 63-38, Friday.

Lowellville moves to 9-9 overall and 4-9 in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Scarlet Tier.

Sebring drops to 5-16 and 0-13 in league play, heading into tonight’s home game against Springfield.

Champion 62, Crestview 61

COLUMBIANA — Trayvon Edwards tipped back a missed Joey Fell three as time expired in overtime to give Champion a 62-61 win over Crestview on Friday night.

Champion is 10-6.

Edwards led the Flashes with 25 points.

Crestview was paced by Kirkland Miller’s 17 points and 14 rebounds. Anthony Cusick added 15 points, five assists and three steals, while Jack Yerkey had 13 points.

Champion won the jayvee game, 45-35. Wyatt Miller scored 13 points.

Crestview (8-13, 6-6) is at Heartland today.
