Clippers take long way around Quakers

COLUMBIANA — Tori Long allowed one hit and struck out 11 in five innings as Columbiana held off Salem, 7-5, Saturday.

Maci Linhart had three hits and three runs for the Clippers. Julia Rapp had three hits, two runs and an RBI and McKenzie Gamble also had three hits. Long contributed three RBIs and a run.

The Quakers scored five runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by Dorothy Moore’s two-run single. Rylie Troy had Salem’s lone hit in the first five innings.

West Branch splits

CANTON — Jordan Anderson pitched a one-hitter in the first game to beat GlenOak, 13-2, in five innings Saturday.

GlenOak scored six runs in the fourth inning of the second game to hand West Branch its first loss, 9-5.

Anderson pitchied eight innings on the day, allowing two hits with 16 strikeouts.

Sydney Mercer had two doubles, a single and three RBIs in the opener. Skyler Greeneisen and Anderson each had two hits and three RBIs. Ryley Pittman had two hits, including a double, and an RBI.

In the second game, Destany Blake and Tori McKay each had a hit and two RBIs. Jaci Thomas added a double.

West Branch (4-1) will host Marlington on Tuesday.

LEETONIA — Leetonia made quick work of Youngstown Chaney with a 19-0, 19-0 doubleheader sweep on Saturday.

Megan Rosko totaled five hits for the Bears.

Haleigh Brock and Delaney Roller each had two hits in the opener.

Rebels sweep

COLUMBIANA — McKenna Schultz tossed a no-hitter in highlighting Crestview’s 17-0, 11-0 sweep of Campbell Memorial on Saturday.

Schultz struck out eight in the five-inning opener.

Jensyn Seabrook had two hits, two RBIs and scored three runs in the opener. Karsyn Moore, Brooke Brubaker and Kayla Deily each had two hits, two RBIs and two runs.

Deily and Kadelyn Sutton combined on a one-hitter in the second game.

A single by Alexa Tovarnak in the third inning of the season game was Campbell’s lone hit on the day.

Kaedyn Sutton had a triple, a double, a single, four RBIs and scored a run to lead the Rebels’ offense charge. McKenna Schultz added three hits, an RBI and two runs. Alexis Smith contributed a triple.

Crestview (2-2) will host Liberty on Tuesday.

Kaley Steigerwald went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs.

McKenna Dailey hit a home run for the Blue Devils, who scored two runs in the first inning.

Lisbon will play at United today.
