South Range falls after taking early lead against Ursuline

CORTLAND — South Range opened up a 2-0 in the third inning before Youngstown Ursuline rallied for a 4-2 victory Saturday.

The Irish improve to 9-11, while the Raiders drop to 13-6.

Jonah Kirchner gave up four hits ands truck out 10 for the complete-game victory.

Brady Shannon went 4-for-4 with a triple and scored two runs for the Irish. Luca Ricchiuti went 3-for-4 with a run.

For the Raiders, Aidan English doubled, Brandon Mikos singled and scored two runs, Trey Pancake had an RBI single and Shane Lindstrom also singled.

MASSILLON — Tuslaw trailed 6-5 in the bottom of the fifth inning before scoring two runs on a stolen base and adding six more runs in the sixth inning to beat United, 14-7, Saturday.

Kaden Lau had three hits, three RBIs and three runs for Tuslaw. Jacob Polen also had three hits and two RBIs.

For United, Tyler Dickens led the way with three hits and two RBIs. Dylan Grubbs went 2-for-2.

COLUMBIANA — Warren JFK scored a pair of unearned runs to down Crestview, 2-0, Saturday.

Freshman Jaden Rishel went 6 2/3 innings and Cam Hollobaugh got the final out for the shutout.

Alex DeSalvo had two hits for JFK.

Sam Campbell scattered four hits in pitching a complete game and collected two hits himself.

MINERVA — Nick Lautzenheiser allowed no earned runs on three hits and helped his cause with an RBI double in the third inning in Minerva’s 7-5 win over Beaver Local on Saturday.

Dylan Moore doubled and scored a run for Beaver Local. Ryan Cunningham and Orion Kolkowski also had hits.

The Beavers (8-10) will host Carrollton on Monday.
