Bears claw for a cause

SEBRING — Sebring’s volleyball team knocked off Leetonia 25-15, 25-17, 25-21 on Wednesday in a non-league affair.

Leetonia wore gold as part of Child Cancer Awareness and Histiocyctosis Month. Donations collected at the match and online went to the HistioCure charity that does research for new treatments and cures for histiocytosis, a rare type of childhood cancer dealing with white blood cells.

For Leetonia, Teagan Arter had three kills. McKendra Cole added three kills and two aces. Ella Gregorino had 12 digs.

The Bears were playing their first match after a week of quarantine.

Sebring won the jayvee match, 25-11, 25-16.

East Palestine 3,

Chaney 0

EAST PALESTINE — East Palestine’s volleyball team defeated Chaney 25-6, 25-11, 25-7 on Wednesday.

The Bulldogs are now 7-2.

Elle Berger had 19 points and five aces for the Bulldogs, Gia Brestelli had three kills and four digs. Marah Zimmerman added six kills. Mackenzie Parker had 11 points, seven aces and six assists.

Ceci Foster had 16 points, three aces and five kills.

The Bulldog jayvees won 25-7, 25-6.

East Palestine is at Wellsville today.
