Murphy’s goal leads Quakers

NEW MIDDLETOWN — Mikaylynn Murphy’s first half goal lifted Salem’s girls soccer team to a 1-0 win over Springfield on Saturday.

She was assisted by Rylee Hutton.

Salem is 9-0 and hosts Mooney today.

Columbiana 8, East Liverpol 2

EAST LIVERPOOL — Columbiana’s girls soccer team was an 8-2 winner over East Liverpool on Saturday at Patterson Field.

Allie Kidder had a goal and assist for the Potters.

Annabel Fitch added a goal on an assist by Alexes Wiley for the Potters.

Canfield 1, West Branch 0

CANFIELD — Canfield’s girls soccer team secured a 1-0 win over West Branch on Saturday evening.

Emmy Jones had six saves in goal for the Warriors, 5-2-2. West Branch hosts Kenston on Tuesday.

Lauren Gossett’s goal gave the Warrior jayvees a 1-0 win over Canfield. West Branch’s reserves are 3-2-0.

Crestview 5, Ursuline 2

YOUNGSTOWN — Crestview’s boys soccer team remained unbeaten with a 5-2 win over Ursuline on Saturday at Youngstown State University.

Nick Novak had three goals for the winners, 8-0. Mitchell Auer had two goals. Ryan Emch had two assists. Carter Blakeman and Nick Jascola had an assist each. Sam Campbell had six saves in goal.

Crestview is at LaBrae on Tuesday.

United 4, Crestview 2

COLUMBIANA — United’s girls soccer team topped Crestview 4-2 on Saturday.

Sam Wolfe and Grace Hall had two goals each for the winners. Cameron Cody and Addy Blazer had assists. Katie Dees had four saves in goal for the Eagles.

United 10, Lordstown 1

LORDSTOWN — United’s boys soccer team ripped Lordstown 10-1 on Saturday.

United is 5-3-1 and is at Heartland on Tuesday.

Canfield 9, West Branch 0

CANFIELD — Canfield’s boys soccer team was a 9-0 winner over West Branch on Saturday.

Canfield is 4-2-2.

West Branch fell to 4-4-1.

The Warriors host United on Thursday.

Minerva 9, Columbiana 2

MINERVA — Minerva’s boys soccer team recorded a 9-2 win over Columbiana on Saturday.

Minerva is 7-3 and has won four straight.

Columbiana is 1-7 and has lost seven straight.
