Blue Devil shows improvement
LISBON — The Lisbon boys basketball team got to visit sophomore teammate Austin Dailey in the hospital Sunday.
Dailey, who was knocked unconscious after running into a wall late in Friday’s game, has been moved been from intensive care to a regular room at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.
Lisbon boys coach Chris Huckshold said Dailey is talking and eating after suffering a broken collarbone and a concussion. Dailey doesn’t remember anything after he collided the wall at East Palestine High School.
Dailey was unresponsive and came around before being taken by ambulance to the hospital. The game was called with 1:21 remaining and Lisbon leading 58-45.
Lisbon’s boys and girls basketball games scheduled for Saturday were postponed after Dailey’s injury. He is expected to return home early this week.
