Clippers roll over Girard
COLUMBIANA — Columbiana moved to 2-0 on the season with a 43-28 win over Girard on Monday.
The Clippers led 15-5 after the first quarter, 26-15 at half and 36-21 after three.
Ava Heinrich led the Clippers with 15 points — 12 of which came from behind the arc. Annah Clemmer added 10 points.
Columbiana hosts South Range on Wednesday.
The Clippers won the jayvee portion, 19-18. Angela Zimbardi had nine points for Columbiana.

VIENNA — East Palestine’s girls basketball team won its debut under new coach Rick Gates 31-30 over Mathews on Monday.
East Palestine trailed 16-10 at halftime before coming back to stop the Mustangs.
Jacklyn Ogle hit two free throws with 37 seconds left to tie the game and Marley Blythe hit the game winning free throw with 10 seconds to go. Ogle led the team with 12 points and seven boards. Blythe added seven points and five rebounds. Cami Kridler had four steals.
The Bulldogs (1-0) are at Campbell today.
Mathews is 0-2.

LISBON — Lisbon’s girls basketball team picked up its first win under new coach Nikki Meek with a 47-41 win over Bridgeport on Monday.
Lisbon was led by Bridgett Newbold’s 15 points. Jayden Smyth added 13 points.
Bridgeport led at the end of the first, second and third quarters.
Lisbon is at Malvern on Wednesday afternoon.

COLUMBIANA — Southern Local’s girls basketball team picked up its first win of the season with a 51-39 win over Heartland Christian on Monday.
Point guard Allyssa Shroades totaled 18 points, six assistes, five assists, three rebounds and three blocks. Addy Martin collected 12 points off the bench with four three-pointers.
Raelea Carosiello added eight points and 12 rebounds, Haylee Kellogg seven points, 12 rebounds and three steals, Makenna Jones 10 rebounds and two blocks and Hailey Maines seven rebounds.
A 17-4 run in the third quarter was the different for the Indians.
Sarah Reynolds topped Heartland with 18 points. Rachel Reynolds added eight points.
There was no junior varsity game.
Southern (1-1) hosts Frontier for a varsity-only contest at 1 p.m. Saturday.
Heartland (0-1) hosts East Canton on Dec. 2.

South Range won the jayvee portion, 42-20.
