Stith off to good start at Mount Union
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – The University of Mount Union women’s wrestling team won three duals at the John Carroll Duals on Sunday.
The Purple Raiders beat Rio Grande (35-18) Waynesburg (39-0) and Buffalo State (32-11). Host John Carroll beat Mount Union (23-14).
Three Raiders went undefeated on the day, freshman and Salem graduate Karlie Stith (145 pounds) freshman Emma Hanrahan (138) and sophomore Lyndsee Young (207). All three went 4-0.
Ilani Jones-Wallace, another Mount Union freshman and Salem graduate, won her only match with a 12-0 technical fall over Buffalo State’s Rosaliz Aponte at 131 pounds.
