West Branch stuns Dalton in overtime thriller
BELOIT — West Branch survived Dalton’s three-point barrage for a 75-71 overtime victory Tuesday.
The Bulldogs hit 13 three-pointers, but the Warriors countered with Cooper Anderson’s 25-point, 13-rebound effort for the victory.
Jeremiah Thomas followed with 15 points and five assists and Joey Jackson had 12 points and five rebounds.
West Branch improves to 10-11, while Dalton drops to 10-10.
The Warriors had a 27-20 scoring edge in the fourth quarter and overtime.
Coy Wenger topped the Bulldogs with 24 points.
Dalton won the junior varsity game, 32-30. Grady Hirst and Chase Gee each scored seven points for the Warriors.
Both teams play Friday as West Branch hosts Girard and Dalton visits Rittman.

Crestview 75, Liberty 38
COLUMBIANA — Crestview is playing its best basketball of the season.
Jonathan Best had three steals in a 36-second span late in the first half that led to baskets in highlighting the Rebels’ 75-38 win over Liberty on Tuesday.
Crestview improves to 8-13 overall and 5-7 in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Gray Tier.
Liberty, which extended its league losing streak to 13 games, drops to 4-15 and 0-14 in the MVAC.
Crestview — which won the first game between the teams, 35-29, on Jan. 17 — scored that many points in less than one half Tuesday.
Six players scored in double digits for the Rebels, led by sophomore Tanner Guy with 14 points. Jameson English and Tyler Savage each had 12 points, while Jonathan Best, Hayden Patrone and Evan Neff had 11 apiece
The Rebels finished strong in both of the opening two quarters.
An English three-pointer highlighted a 7-0 run to end the first quarter, giving the Rebels a 19-8 advantage.
The Rebels led 30-19 before Best took over in the final two minutes of the second quarter.
He had a steal and a layup, a block on the next possession, then another steal that led to a Savage layup and a steal that resulted in a Savage layup to put the Rebels ahead 36-19 with 1:46 remaining in the first half. Best added two free throws to give the Rebels a 38-21 halftime lead.
They widened the margin to 60-28 after three quarters.
Crestview also won the junior varsity game, 45-24, as Carter Love scored 13 points and Dylan Stoffer 11.
Both teams return to league play Friday as Crestview travels to Southeast and Liberty hosts Brookfield.

East Palestine 62, Rootstown 57
EAST PALESTINE — East Palestine took care of business on senior night with a 62-57 win over Rootstown on Tuesday.
Kyler Bourne had 29 points and eight rebounds to lead the Bulldogs. Owen Jurjavcic added 12 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds. Landyn Cope had 11 points and seven rebounds. Will Dixon added seven points, four rebounds and three assists. Drew Bycroft had four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
East Palestine also won the junior varsity game, 50-38. Braydon Plum scored 12 points and Brad Bartels 11 for the Bulldogs.
East Palestine will play at Southern tonight.

LEETONIA — Valley Christian senior Jaylen Robinson was on a mission Tuesday.
Robinson scored 11 of his game-high 19 points in the first quarter as Valley beat Leetonia, 63-33, to claim a share of the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference title Tuesday.
The Eagles improve to 16-4 overall and 13-1 in the EOAC, sharing the league title with Columbiana. They will host Heartland tonight.
Jerrell Miles added 15 points and Jordan Tutwiler 11 for the winners.
Valley led 27-14 at halftime and used a 23-point third quarter to take a 53-20 advantage.
CJ Faulkner and Dylan Johns each scored eight points for Leetonia.
The Bears are 5-16 and finish 0-14 in league play — stretching their league losing streak to 21 games.
Valley also won the junior varsity game, 36-13. Aiden Hunter scored nine points for the Bears.
Leetonia hosts Waterloo on Friday.
