Lewis guides Quakers

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — Emilee Lewis gave up one earned run and struck out 12 in going to the distance as Salem beat Struthers, 10-4, Saturday at the Ripken Experience.

Hadley Carlisle had three hits and three RBIs. Emilee Lewis scored three runs and Aniya Jones doubled.

Channing Toy singled to center field on the first pitch for her 100th career hit. She also singled in the sixth inning.

Weir 7, Salem 1

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. — Rayna Hoover and Jaidyn Kelly hit inside-the-park home runs as Weir beat Salem, 7-1, Saturday at the Ripken Experience.

Eliza Utt shut down the Quakers after giving up a run-scoring triple to Hadley Carlisle in the first inning. She gave up one unearned run on five hits in seven innings with 11 strikeouts and no walks.

Carlisle topped the Quakers with two hits.

Channing Toy singled in the third inning and stole second, becoming the Quakers’ career leader with 62 stolen bases.

Morgan Blaine took the loss, giving up four earned runs on eight hits in six innings, striking out five and walking two.

Salem, which is 5-7 after a 1-3 spring trip to Tennessee, will host Wet Branch on Tuesday.

Chaney 7, Lisbon 2

LISBON — Gracie Stankorb’s two-run home run in the first inning put Youngstown Chaney on its way to a 7-2 win over Lisbon on Saturday.

Lexi Roush doubled, singled and drove in a run for the Blue Devils. Marah Householder also had a double and Sofia Brown drove in a run.

Kamryn Peruchetti took the loss, allowing four earned runs on seven hits in four innings. She struck out three and walked two.

Lisbon (5-11) will host East Palestine today.
