Moraski throws perfect game

UNITY — East Palestine pitcher Cale Moraski threw a perfect game with 11 strikeouts and no walks as the Bulldogs dumped Lisbon 10-0 in five innings on Tuesday.

Moraski threw 64 pitches with 47 for strikes. It was Moraski’s first career no-hitter.

At the plate, Moraski had three hits and two RBIs. Phoenix Marvin added two hits and three RBIs.

Brady Carpenter took the loss with eight strikeouts and two walks in four innings of work.

East Palestine moved to 9-4 and 5-2 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference.

Lisbon is 4-7 and 2-4.

The Bulldogs plays Struthers at 7:30 p.m. at Eastwood Field. The Blue Devils host Jefferson County on Thursday.

COLUMBIANA — Eli Cope’s RBI single in the nitnth led Crestview to a 2-1 victory over Champion on Tuesdsay.

Zachary Davis added a single, double and an RBI for the Rebels, 3-6.

Braden Devine was the winning pitcher with one inning of scoreless relief.

Crestview is 3-5 and 2-1 in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference Grey Division.

Crestview is at Champion Thursday.

ALLIANCE — West Branch’s shot at winning the Eastern Buckeye Conference title took a big blow with a 6-2 loss to Alliance on Tuesday.

The Warriors, Div. II state champions last season, fell to 4-6 and 2-3 in the league.

Charlie Biskup had three hits and an RBI for the Warriors. Nick Scofinsky had a double. Anthony Perry took the loss with three strikeouts and three walks in five innings.

West Branch hosts the Aviators today.

MALVERN — United’s baseball team won its sixth straight by sidestepping Malvern 4-0 on Tuesday.

Quentin Taylor had a home run, two singles and two RBIs for the winners. Taylor also got the shutout with seven strikeouts and four walks in seven innings.

United (11-4) is slated to play at Toronto today.

SALEM –Braydon Van Dyne had a home run, double, single and five RBIs in Salem’s 7-5 loss to Carrollton on Tuesday.

Troy Gibson had two hits. Keegan Sommers added a double. Marshall Boron took the loss with no strikeouts and a walk in an inning pitched.

Salem is 1-10 and will be at Carrollton today.
