Sell Road fire
An exterior receptacle, where a swimming pool was plugged in, is believed to be the cause of an early morning house fire at 34509 Sell Road. According to Lisbon Fire Chief Paul Gresh, the fire is thought to have a started in an outdoor receptacle and traveled up wiring on a back wall into the roof area where it spread across the modular house. No one was home at the time of the fire as the owner, Monte Mackall, had left for work before 6a.m. and his wife and child were next door at her brother’s house. Firefighters were alerted around 6:15 a.m. and arrived to find the house well involved. Hanover Township and Winona firefighters also fought the blaze with the West Point department covering for Lisbon on its floor. Between the three departments about 20 firefighters responded and had the fire out, returning to their stations at about 10:45 a.m. No injuries were reported and the house is thought to be insured.
