Movie to be filmed at Adele’s

SALEM — A Beverly Hills, Calif.-based movie company will be shooting scenes for the movie “Them That Follow” at Adele’s Place at 509 Snyder Road Tuesday.

Perry Township Police Chief Mike Emigh said, “Snyder Road (only) between South Lincon and South Ellsworth avenues will be closed while the film is being made.”

He said it will be closed at 7 a.m. but trucks headed to Simmons Grain Co. at 600 Snyder Road will be allowed to have access.

Emigh said he is waiting for more information from the movie company regarding how long the road will be closed.

Adele Lake, the owner of Adele’s Place, said, “The whole crew was in here Wednesday and ate, 20 of them. There were inside taking photos …” and checking it out.

“It’s been in the works for two weeks,” Lake said, adding “it’s a cult movie … religious.”

She will be cooking for them on Tuesday and Adele’s Place will be closed Tuesday “only” she said.

The movie is being billed as a “dramatic thriller” and stars Thomas Mann, Olivia Colman, Alice Englert, Walton Goggins, Kaitlyn Dever and Cameron Monaghan and comedian Jim Gaffigan who just came on board., Deadline.com, an entertainment, Hollywood and media news site, said. Michale Leahy is the producer, known for Feast, Halloween, Resurrection and Pulse, according to the website.

Alan Siegel and Danielle Robinson of G-Base are producing it with Bradley Gallo and Michael Helfant producing it for Amasia Entertainment, which is also financing the project, Deadline.com said, adding that Brittany Poulton and Daniel Savage are directing the picture from their original screenplay about a small community in Appalachia where believers handle poisonous snakes to prove their righteousness before God.

Lake said, “It’s exciting for me.”
